butterfly- talilia gadbaw

I made my butterfly in Adobe fireworks. I first started off with my canvas and made three different colored back grounds with black as the base, the green one there is a gradient of swirl and is the second one, and a light blue one that I will be making my butterfly and flower on. Then I started off by make a  butterfly and using the shape tool to make an oval and used the freeform tool to shape it as a butterfly wing  then I copy and past and four more and put them the way I wanted them and added a glow to the wings. Then I made another thin long oval and used that as the base. I use the line tool to make the antennas. I also made the black middle part in my wings but making a circle and then freeforming it to fit in my butterfly wings. Then I made my rose by making a red oval and using the freeform tool to shape it as a peddle. I copied and pasted them all around my center and added a glow to make them stand out and the stem I used the shape tool and made a thin square. I did the same with the sunflowers for the stem. I made a circle and made thin ovals and surround the big circle with the thin ovals and changed the color of the thin ovals to yellow. The clovers I made circles and shaped them as a clover peddle then added a gradient to make it look more realistic and then made the stem. Last thing I made was my name and I changed the font and the color ( mines the same color as my background) and added a White glow.

Talilia Gadbaw Emotion

My First Emotion: Joy

I made all my emotions on Adobe Fireworks. First I started off by making the canvas blue for the background. Then I mad a bright sun with the color of joy or yellow. I just used the Eclipse tool to form a circle then changed the color to yellow. Then I made the mountains by making a circle with the eclipse tool and used the freeform tool to make them look like mountains. Then I made the sunflowers yellow to represent joy also. I first started off with the Eclipse tool and made a circle and changed the color to a brown. Then I used the Eclipse tool to make skinny ovals for the peddles and adjusted them around the circle to form a flower. Then I put them all over the bottom to look like a big field of bright joyful sunflowers. This represents joy because the scene is very bright with bright happy sunflowers and a bright sun.

My Second Emotion: Sadness

So I first started off with the canvas and changed it to the color blue to represent sadness. Then I added a patter to give it a faint swirl look. Then I used the Eclipse tool to make a oval and used the freeform tool to make the ovals into tears. Then I made the flower by using the Eclipse tool to form an oval and then I used the freeform tool to make it have more of a shape as peddle and after that I changed the color to black to give it a sad look. Then I copied a whole bunch and started putting them around each other to make it look like it was over lapping and I even added some peddles falling off. Then I used the Eclipse tool to make a thin long square for the stem. This represents sadness because it has dark colors, tears, and a dead rose to show sadness.

My Third Emotion: Serenity

I changed my canvas to A light bright yellow. Then I made a circle with the eclipse tool and made that a bright yellow to stand out from the back ground. Then I used the Eclipse tool to make a skinny oval and changed the oval to black. Then I mad 4 other oval and used the freeform tool to make it look like butterfly wings and added 3 extra circles in the wings to give it a different look. Then I copied and pasted and made 4 more butterflies. This shows serenity because butterflys are very peaceful and calm.

My Fourth Emotion: Surprised

For this canvas I put the background to a light blue. Then I chose a pattern that gave it that confetti look. Then I took the Eclipse tool and made two circles. Then I changed one circle to purple and copied and pasted them everywhere and another red and did the same thing. Then I used the pencil tool changed the color to black and made the other part of the confetti. This shows serprize because when you have partys you have confetti everywhere when the person you are serprizing comes in the door.

My Fifth Emotion: Terror

I first made my canvas green and then added a Gradient to the color. It gave me green and white but it didn’t look like terror. So I went to the colors and changed the white to black. The next thing I think of when I think of terror is ghosts. So I made ovals and used the freeform tool  to make them look like floating ghosts. Then I used the Eclipse tool to make three other ovals 2 small, 1 big for the eyes and the mouth. This shows terror becuase its creepy looking with the dark green and black and ghost scare me

Talilia Gadbaw-Sample Text

Sample Text

To make a sample text you first start on Adobe Fireworks and use the Text tool and type your name. Then you change the color of the outline and base to make it stand out. After this you highlighted my name and went to Text and clicked on Convert to Paths. Then I used the Subselection tool to stretched it out and make the words look different then regular text. Then I went to canvas and made the background a different color from my words. Then I pressed Control Alt T to crop to my name.

Talilia Gadbaw-Cornucopia

Note: Every time you make a new image you have to start a new layer for each image.

Background: I first started off by making my first layer and picking an orange fall looking background to go with the them of the cornucopia.

Title: I made a new layer and used my Ellipse tool and changed the shape to square, and then I change the back ground color. Then I typed cornucopia with the text box and changed the color and font to what I thought matched the theme. Then I picked drop shadow  and adjusted the shadow so it was behind the lettering of cornucopia. Then added glow and adjusted how much I wanted it to show.

Cornucopia: Start a new layer and click on your Ellipse tool and start making small, medium, and large circles. Make sure to have the circles a different color then your background and the out lining a different color as well. Then start putting the circles on top of each other by size starting with the smallest ending with the biggest. The last (biggest) circle should be a different color from the rest of the circles. For example my last circle is black in stead of the color/texture I used for the rest of the circles. When you are all done and like the way your cornucopia looks, group the circles together.

Pumpkins: The next layer is pumpkins and I started off by using the Ellipse tool and making circles. then I choose the Gradient and adjusted the Gradient to what I liked and the color that joined the orange (black). I made the same size circles then staked them on top of each other. Then I got to the middle of the pumpkin and used the line tool to draw two lines down the middle. After this I took the freeform tool and curved them to fit the middle. Then I took the Ellipse tool and made a tine square to represent the stump. When I was all done I grouped the pumpkin all together and copy/past and created 3 more.

Grapes: For this layer I made a circle with the Ellipse tool then I picked the color and gradient for it that made it more realistic. When done with that I copy/past and created about 10 or so and put them together to form a cluster. After that I grouped them and copied and pasted the cluster to make 2. Then I un-grouped the second cluster and changed there color to green and then regrouped them together.

Potato's: Next layer! You start off with the Ellipse tool and form a small oval and change the background to brown. Then I also took the pencil and made little dots and lines to give it a more realistic look. Then I copy/past and made 3 more.

Apples: This layer you use the Ellipse tool to make a circle and then change the fill to red or green what ever you per fer. Then I made the stem by using the Ellipse tool and formed a tiny tiny square and change the color to brown. I also made a leave by making a circle with the Ellipse tool. I used the line adjuster to give it a different shape. Then I used the skew tool to rotate it and change the size to fit on the apple. If you want more group them and copy/past.

Corn: On this layer I started off with the Ellipse tool and made a oval and changed the color to yellow. Then I took the line tool and made vertical and horizontal lines on the corn. Then I took the Ellipse tool and made a circle and changed the way the circle looked with the freeform tool and make the ovals look more like leaves. If you want more group them and copy/past.

Pears: With this layer you take the Ellipse tool and make a oval and changed the color to a light green. Then I took the Freemfor tool and shaped it more as a pear. Then I used the Ellipse to make a rectangle and changed the color to brown. If you want more group them and copy/past.

Carrots: For the carrots you make a new layer and make a stretched out oval and then changed the color to orange. Then I used the line tool to draw some lines in it to give it a more realistic carrot look. Then I got the pencil and made the leaves by just drawing them on. If you want more group them and copy/past.

Nuts: Have you notice the pattern in making my Cornucopia in Adobe Fireworks? Lets make another layer shell we. On this layer you use the Ellipse to form a small circle and change the background to brown and out line to black. The you make a smaller circle (same color and out line as your first circle) to put in the middle of the other circle. If you want more group them and copy/past.

Wheat: The layer for wheat I used the Ellipse tool and made a small square and then changed the color to yellow. Then I made smaller ovals with the same tool and used the skew tool to adjust and movie them to around the steam. (Thin rectangle)

Leaves: For our last layer you will need the Ellipse tool to form a oval. Then you will need to use the freeform tool to shape it more like a leave. When down with that you change the color to orange and then grab the line tool. With this you make a line going down the leave and then use the freeform tool to adjust it to your leave if it curves of to one side alittle. Then you make lines from that main line coming out to the leaves sides all up and down from top to bottom. Then I made even smaller lines in the middle of those lines to give it more wrinkled, old look.

How  I made my name platte

My name plate was made by Adobe Fireworks. First I Changed the back ground by going to solid then gradient to waves then adjusted the view of the waves by pulling down on the adjuster. Then I made a rectangle in the box and did the back ground to rectangle and used the scale tool to angle it. Then I put my font in the middle of the rectangle and angled it to angle the same direction as the rectangle  and made my font color red.

Graphic Formats

JPG/JPEG or Joint Photographic Experts Group: This deals with photographs and is probably the most common file type you have probably ever seen. Its a method that is created specifically for  photographs. Its a method compression that keeps as much information in the photo it can (colors, digital info, etc) and keeping the file size to storage and email. Its also the file type digital cameras capture photos in and store on the memory card. This is appropriate for both web and print and can be opened by anyone.

GIF or Graphic and Illustrations: these are non- Photographic file types that is limited to a 256 color palette  and can be used for animation effects on the web. This is the reason why it can't be used for photos. The fun flashing words on a websites and side bars are all GIF.

PNG or Portable Network Graphics: This was created as a superior alternative to the GIF. The PNG files format supports truecolor(16 million colors). This file excels when the image has large, uniformly colored areas like an illustration but can also be used to edit photos because of its turecolor content but because of its massive file sizing for photos its not used for a photographs.

TIFF or Tagged Image File Format:TIFF is very common for transporting color or gray-scale images onto layout applications, but is less suited to delivering web content. These files are large and of very high quality. With images that are highly portable; most graphics, desktop publishing, and word processing applications to understand them. Because the files so large and because there are so many possible variations of each TIFF file type. Few web browsers can show them with out plug ins.
